The activities of NSM are classified into the following:
1. AWARENESS PROGRAME'S ON HIV & AIDS

(HIV /AIDS Projects are in operation at Delhi and Asha Project in Vellore.)
2. SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

(Social and Economic Development works attended by Asha Illam. Micro Credit

(Community based Child Care Programme one at Delhi, Four at Gujarat. Four Day
Care Centers at Tamil Nadu. One at Bihar; about 1000 children's in all.)

(De-Addiction Programme is done in Asha Project (Sevoor) Asha Clinic (Vellore)

6. REHABILITATION OF COMMERCIAL SEX WORKERS AND PIMPS

(Counseling and Health Care is done in all homes and Projects of Navjeevan Seva
Mandal.)
7. CHILDREN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

(We have 20 Navjeevan homes with nearly 1500 children in Tamilnadu, Maharastra,
Bihar, Gujarat, U.P. and Delhi.)
8. MEDICAL CARE
a. Preventive-Immunization

c. Antenatal and postnatal care
d. Motivation for family planning
e. Training for Rural Health Workers
(We have three major medical Projects, one at selemba, the KALA-AZAR training
programme in Bihar and clinics for CSW in Vellore with rural camps.)
The number of full time staffs at the project: 210.
Annual Budget: 300 lakhs of Indian rupees which 25% is raised within India.

1. CHILDREN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
Another 2000 children in tribal areas need Sponsorship.
To support:
One Child($10 / PM) for 7 years = $ 840
(7 years School Education Team)
To support Ten children for 7 years = $ 8400
2. VOCATIONAL TRAINING
As the world is moving towards information technology we are in a position to train our
children in this field to complete with other children. To meet the requirement we need
two centers, one in Tamil Nadu and one in Gujarat with three computers for each center.
The cost for one center is = $ 2340
3. REHABILIATION OF COMMERCIAL SEX WORKERS
To rehabiliate 6 girl's (C.S.W) with food, shelter, clothing and to develop their skills for
employment, for one center is about = $ 3890
4. AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON HIV / AIDS
Now a days the terrible disease called AIDS spreading in India very fast. One of our project
is particularly functioning among commercial sex workers. It needs two centers for
counceling HIV identified and de-addiction cases. It cost about $ 1670 for one center.
5. MEDICAL CARE
To save the people from disease like Malaria, Kala Azar, Tuberculosis etc.,Gujarat and Bihar
needs one primary health center each covering two lakhs population. It costs $ 8100 each to start and run one center.
6. YOUTH TRAINING
In India students have to complete Bachelor degree as a minimum qualification to get jon in
the middle level. After secondary level 150 tribal children are continuing their education
during this year.
For this purpose one child requires $ 380 per year. |
